This week's bulletin is online here. Almost every election season a question that faces many Christians is, "Is it okay to support an unbelieving candidate?" This dilemma isn't new. The very first Christians had to wrestle over this same issue as they tried to live as followers of Christ and citizens of Rome. In fact, even before this the Jewish people tried to solve this problem as they considered the implications of paying taxes to Caesar. So what is the Christian to do? Jesus answers this dilemma in Matthew 22:15-22 when the Pharisees challenge Him, asking, "Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?" Ryan will explain this Sunday in a message entitled, "No King But Caesar?"
In Sunday school we will finish our discussion of chapter sixteen of Kerby Anderson's Christian Ethics in Plain Lanugage, "Crime and Capital Punishment."
