This week's bulletin is online here. In Matthew 23 Jesus condemns the scribes and Pharisees for their corrupt and hypocritical leaderhip. However, before He begins this condemnation He first turns to the crowds and to the diciples and says, "Don't be like them." He then proceeds to explain how to avoid becoming a hypocrite. We took a look at this section of the chapter last week in a message entitled "Avoiding Hypocrisy." But given the pernicious influence of hypocrisy (which Jesus is about to detail in the rest of chapter 23) how does one avoid the influence of the hypocrite? Ryan will explain this Sunday in a message from Luke 12:1-7 entitled "Defending Against Hypocrisy."
Please remember that in lieu of Sunday school we will be holding our bi-annual congregational meeting in the chapel. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Also, the women's study will be starting up again this Monday at 7:00 PM. The ladies will be studying chapters two and three of When People Are Big and God is Small.
