No King but Caesar? (2021)

Christians today often wrestle with our proper relationship to the government. This dilemma isn't new. The very first Christians had to wrestle over this same issue as they tried to live as followers of Christ and citizens of Rome. In fact, even before this the Jewish people tried to solve this problem as they considered the implications of paying taxes to Caesar. So what is the Christian to do? Jesus answers this dilemma in Matthew 22:15-22 when the Pharisees challenge Him, asking, "Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
