Privacy Policy

How we handle your information, including text messages.

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Cornerstone Baptist Church (“we,” “us,” or “the church”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how our text‑message (SMS) communications work.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide to us directly, such as when you:

  • Create or update a member account on our website (name, email, mobile number, address, and similar contact details);
  • Fill out a contact, connect, prayer, event registration, or giving form;
  • Join a ministry or communication group.

How we use information

We use the information to serve our congregation and operate the ministry, including to:

  • Communicate about services, events, ministries, and care;
  • Maintain the member directory and group rosters;
  • Respond to your requests and prayer needs;
  • Administer online giving and church operations.

Text messaging (SMS)

Members may choose to receive ministry and congregational text messages from Cornerstone Baptist Church. By providing your mobile number and enabling “Receive ministry text messages” in your member account (or by otherwise opting in), you consent to receive these texts, which may include event and service reminders, schedule changes, prayer and care‑group updates, and church announcements.

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or contact the church office at (417) 358-4844.
  • You can also turn texts on or off anytime in your member account profile.

We do not sell or share your mobile number, opt‑in, or consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile opt‑in data is used solely to deliver the church communications you asked for. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the ministry — for example, with service providers who help us run the website, email, and (if enabled) text messaging on our behalf — or when required by law. Some contact details may be visible to other logged‑in members in the church directory only to the extent you allow in your privacy settings.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Access to member data is limited to authorized church staff and leaders. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

  • Update your contact information and privacy/visibility settings in your member account;
  • Turn ministry texts on or off, and join or leave communication groups, from your profile;
  • Reply STOP to opt out of texts; contact us to request corrections to your information.

Children's privacy

Our online accounts and text communications are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without a parent or guardian's involvement.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
