After Jesus' teaching on Sabbath, the Pharisees conspired together to destroy Jesus. Upon hearing of this conspiracy Jesus withdrew, and in this withdrawal Matthew perceived the fulfillment of a very powerful Old Testament Scripture. How does Jesus' withdrawal from persecution fulfill the Scriptures, and how does this fulfillment encourage us in our faith in Him?
