While modern Christians seek to defend the faith against philosophical or scientific objections, early Christians, such as Matthew, would have faced objections against Christianity’s consistency with the Old Testament. For example, many ancient Jews would have likely objected to Christ’s primarily Galilean ministry and the apostles’ Galilean origins.
