The term “Nazarene” was originally a name attached to Christians as a title of mockery and scorn. Jesus’ origins from this insignificant Galilean town called Nazareth was originally seen by many as a reason to reject Him as the Messiah, but as Matthew reflected on the hometown of Jesus he saw the favor and plan of God on display.
